Which months are in each quarter?

Map the twelve calendar months to Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4.

Calendar quarters

Q1 is January–March, Q2 is April–June, Q3 is July–September and Q4 is October–December.

Unequal day counts

Calendar quarters contain different numbers of days, and Q1 changes in a leap year. Compare daily averages when raw totals could be distorted by period length.

Fiscal quarters

Fiscal Q1 begins with an organization's fiscal year, not necessarily January. Confirm the year-end before interpreting quarterly data.
